Build it like it’s yours. We are looking for a leader who wants more than a title, someone who wants to build a pharma company from the ground up, own the outcome, and enjoy the journey.
About the Opportunity
iCube BioPharma & Medicine is a new pharmaceutical venture with operations in India and the United States, backed by a diversified business group with interests in pharma, life-sciences chemistry, AI and technology, and corporate services. The company is at the stage where the first CEO shapes everything: the portfolio, the go-to-market model, the team, and the culture.
We are seeking a commercially driven, entrepreneurial CEO to lead the company globally from India. You will own the P&L, build the sales and marketing engine in both markets, and run the business with the energy, frugality and accountability of a founder, while having the backing, shared services and leadership support of an established group.
Why Join Us
Founder-level impact. Build the company’s strategy, brand, team and operating model from day one, rather than inheriting someone else’s.
Real autonomy. Run the business as your own, with direct access to the Group Chairman and fast decisions without layers of bureaucracy.
Group backing. Lean on ready-made HR, payroll, IT, finance, procurement and staffing support from Kontinental Corporate Services, so you can focus on growth.
Built-in innovation edge. Work alongside sister businesses in oligonucleotide chemistry and applied AI, opening doors to differentiated products and digital-first commercial models.
A two-market canvas. Lead across India and the US, two of the world’s most important pharma markets, and build a career-defining track record.
A great place to work. Join a team that values trust, candour, humour and getting things done together.
Role Purpose
The CEO – Global is accountable for the overall strategy, commercial performance, operations and profitability of iCube BioPharma & Medicine across India and the US. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution: setting direction with the Group Chairman, building the commercial engine, and delivering sustainable, profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & P&L Ownership
Own the full P&L for India and US operations, including revenue, gross margin, operating costs, EBITDA and cash.
Develop and execute the company’s 3–5 year strategy, annual operating plan and budget, and present them to the Group Chairman for approval.
Shape the product and portfolio strategy, including in-licensing, partnerships, contract manufacturing and new market entry.
Identify and evaluate growth opportunities, alliances and business development deals in both markets.
Commercial Leadership: Sales, Marketing & Digital
Build and lead the sales and marketing organisation, from field force design and distribution networks to key accounts and institutional business.
Drive brand strategy, product launches, pricing and market-access plans that win share profitably.
Champion digital marketing and omnichannel engagement with healthcare professionals, channel partners and patients, using data and analytics to sharpen targeting and return on spend.
Set clear sales targets, incentives and performance dashboards, and personally lead key customer and partner relationships.
Operations: India & US
Lead day-to-day operations across both entities, including supply chain, manufacturing or CMO partners, quality, regulatory and distribution.
Ensure full compliance with Indian regulators (CDSCO and state authorities) and the US FDA, along with ethical marketing codes in both markets.
Establish scalable processes, KPIs and governance that let a lean organisation run with discipline.
Make the best use of the Group’s shared services to keep overheads lean and execution fast.
Governance & Partnership
Report to the Group Chairman with transparent, regular updates on performance, risks and opportunities, with no surprises.
Partner closely with the CFO on financial planning, capital allocation, working capital, pricing and investment decisions.
Collaborate with other Group executives and sister companies to unlock cross-business synergies.
Represent the company with customers, partners, regulators, industry bodies and, where relevant, investors.
People & Culture
Hire, develop and retain a high-performing leadership team across India and the US.
Build a culture of ownership, integrity, speed and customer focus, and keep the work enjoyable.
Lead by example: accessible, hands-on, and willing to roll up your sleeves.
Qualifications & Experience
Must Have
MBA from an IIM.
15–20 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong commercial background in sales and marketing.
Demonstrated P&L ownership, with a proven record of growing revenue and profitability.
Proven track record of leading sales, marketing and operations in the Indian pharma market.
Hands-on expertise in digital marketing, omnichannel engagement and data-driven sales management.
Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills, from the field force to the boardroom.
Preferred
Track record in the US pharma market (generics, branded generics, specialty or 505(b)(2)), or in managing India–US cross-border operations.
Experience launching products, building a business from early stage, or leading a turnaround.
Exposure to business development, licensing, partnerships or M&A.
Working knowledge of regulatory and quality frameworks (CDSCO, US FDA, GMP).
Science or pharmacy undergraduate degree.
The Persona We’re Looking For
Our research into CEO searches for founder-led and venture-backed life-sciences companies shows that the leaders who succeed in this setting combine several distinct personas. The ideal candidate will recognise themselves in most of these:
| Persona | ** What it looks like** |

| The Owner-Operator | Thinks and acts like a co-founder. Treats the company’s money, time and reputation as their own, and takes accountability when things go wrong, without waiting to be asked. |
| The Commercial Builder | Has built sales and marketing engines that delivered measurable growth. Comfortable both designing the strategy and closing the deal. |
| The Digital-First Marketer | Uses digital channels, CRM and analytics to reach doctors, partners and patients efficiently, and is curious about how AI can sharpen commercial execution. |
| The Cross-Border Bridge | Understands both the Indian and US pharma ecosystems, and can align teams, partners and regulators across geographies and time zones. |
| The Lean Operator | Thrives with ambiguity and limited resources, sets priorities quickly, builds processes that scale, and moves fast without cutting corners. |
| The Trusted Partner | Builds deep trust with the Chairman, CFO and peers through transparency, sound judgement and consistent delivery. |
| The Culture Carrier | Energetic, approachable and fun to work with. Builds teams where people feel valued, take pride in their work, and enjoy coming to work. |
Leadership Qualities & Character
Integrity and trustworthiness: honest, ethical and dependable in every decision, especially the difficult ones.
Accountability: owns results, celebrates the team’s wins and owns the misses.
Entrepreneurial drive: a self-starter with a bias for action and a passion for building.
Communication: clear, persuasive and confident with customers, teams and leadership alike.
Resilience: stays steady and optimistic through the ups and downs of a growing business.
Positive energy: warm, good-humoured and enjoyable to be around, someone people want to follow.
