About the Role
iCube Biopharma & Medical is a start-up developing science-backed consumer healthcare products, with an initial focus on pain management and skincare. We are looking for a Senior R&D Chemist with deep grounding in organic chemistry and biochemistry to lead product development from concept through commercialisation.
You will own formulation design, run the laboratory, oversee analytical and quality testing, and work hand in hand with manufacturing to make sure what works in the lab works at scale. As an early member of the team, your methods and standards will shape how the company does R&D for years to come.

Key Responsibilities
Research & Product Development
Lead the research, design and development of new consumer healthcare products in the pain-relief and skincare categories.
Develop and optimise formulations that balance scientific principles, regulatory requirements and market needs.
Run feasibility studies, prototype development, stability testing and product-improvement projects.
Evaluate raw materials, active ingredients, excipients and functional additives.
Formulation & Process Development
Design and refine formulations for efficacy, stability and manufacturability.
Provide technical leadership during scale-up and commercialisation.
Partner with manufacturing to ensure smooth technology transfer and production readiness.
Troubleshoot formulation and production issues as they arise.
Laboratory Operations
Manage day-to-day laboratory activities in line with good laboratory practice.
Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments and testing records.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs and quality systems.
Support analytical method development and validation.
Quality Control & Analytical Testing
Perform and oversee analytical testing using HPLC and other laboratory instruments.
Review test results against product specifications and quality standards.
Conduct stability studies, quality evaluations and performance testing.
Investigate quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Manufacturing & Technical Support
Provide technical guidance to manufacturing teams during batch production.
Support process validation, quality assurance and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Prepare technical documentation, specifications and manufacturing instructions.
Ensure product consistency and compliance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
Must Have
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biopharmaceutical Sciences or a related life-science discipline.
At least 5 years of industry experience across consumer healthcare product development, skincare formulation, pain-management products, pharma or biopharma R&D, and quality control or analytical testing.
Strong working knowledge of organic chemistry and biochemistry.
Hands-on expertise with HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography).
Experience in consumer product formulation, manufacturing support and process optimisation.
Sound understanding of GMP, GLP, quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
Preferred
Background in cosmetics, personal care, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals or biopharma.
Experience with stability testing and product validation.
Exposure to regulatory and technical documentation.
Knowledge of ingredient compatibility and formulation science.
